Meet the Team
Director & Solicitor / Mediator
Steph qualified as a solicitor in 2003, after training with award winning Legal 500 and local Norwich firm, MJP solicitors. After heading their family department, Steph moved to FLC in 2006 and subsequently became a director in the company.
Originally a Lancashire lass, Steph takes a down to earth, no nonsense approach. The family lawyers’ group, Resolution, operates a rigorous accreditation scheme so that the public can recognise those lawyers who are truly family law specialists. Steph is an accredited Resolution specialist in divorce finance and domestic abuse cases, and she also holds The Law Society’s own family law panel accreditation.
Steph is sympathetic, clear and approachable and she works hard to help her clients through life’s challenges, using her legal skills to achieve realistic goals. Steph enjoys the mix of client contact and court experience that working in family law provides. She is a sensitive and courteous yet determined lawyer, with an approach rooted in common sense. She always acts with consideration, respect and honesty.
Steph’s clients say of her:
“She was a star for me and kept me on the straight and narrow. She kept the light shining at the end of the tunnel. She was a pleasure to work with from a professional point of view and also personal.”
“She helped make a difficult time a lot easier to deal with and move on from. I appreciated her honesty and straight talking.” Steph has recently trained as a family mediator, and will be working alongside experienced family mediator, Anita Smith, in the firm’s family mediation service.
Steph is married to Tom, a landscape designer, and they have a young son, Joseph, who keeps Steph busy when she’s not at work. In her spare time, Steph likes to walk her dog, Ralph, and is an avid baker and cake decorator.
Director & Solicitor / Collaborative Lawyer
Robin originally trained as a barrister but decided to become a solicitor, enjoying the greater level of day to day client contact, as well as court work, that the solicitor role affords.
Robin qualified in 2006 and has specialised in family law ever since, taking a particular interest in complex financial and international child abduction cases. Robin is also a Resolution trained collaborative family lawyer and a member of the region's collaborative law pod. Robin can also advise on making your will.
Robin takes an unflappable, decisive and pragmatic approach to his work that is often appreciated by clients who feel they need structure and an action plan to move forward with their case.
One of Robin's clients says:
"I found Robin to provide excellent service as well as allowing myself to be slightly unprofessional at stressful times during the case. I also found a fixed price scheme to be satisfying and easy to follow. A one off payment per stage allows you to focus on the case and takes that stress away allowing you to not worry about hidden costs suddenly biting you"
When not at work, Robin enjoys spending time with his children, Harry and Lily.
Fiona qualified as a solicitor in 2006, having trained with London based Legal 500 firm Osbornes. She has been based in Norwich since 2007, when she joined FLC, and has become an experienced member of the team, dealing in all aspects of family work, although her particular expertise lies in children matters.
Fiona is often praised for her warm and sympathetic approach. When you talk to Fiona, her compassion, drive and genuine dedication to her clients really come across. It's obvious that she really cares about her clients' welfare, and she is frequently the early bird in the office, working hard to make sure that cases are well prepared in good time. Fiona frequently exceeds expectations and delivers a very high standard of service.
Fiona's clients say:
"Fiona is brilliant, very caring and a very good listener. The rest of the staff are all very informative and friendly – I made a good choice."
"A special thank you to Fiona for a first rate service – excellent!"
In her spare time, Fiona enjoys spending time with family, immersing herself in a good book, and pottering in her garden, weather permitting!

Jack joined Family Law Consultancy in 2012 and has quickly become a bright, enthusiastic and lively member of the team. Clients and staff alike find Jack amiable and willing, good humoured, and a general delight to work with. When he's not busy typing and preparing documents, or on the phone updating clients and booking appointments, he can frequently be found running off to court and barristers' chambers to make sure important papers are processed on time.
